How Bad Do You Want It?

Posted by Picasa

"It" can be anything really. I am speaking in the context of training and diet- "what" do you want and how badly do you want "it"?

There are people who go though the motions, you know exactly who they are. You may see them at the gym all the time, but they never put much effort into what they are doing, they don't break a sweat, they don't change anything up, they don't research what they should be teaching themselves so they can succeed. They don't have a trainer or rely on anyone with any kind of practical knowledge.

These are the same people who will say they work out, they go to the gym religiously, yet they wonder why they just don't progress. They don't see the changes they want or expect.

Sometimes they will ask me things, like "what do you do to get your arms to look like that? What weights should I lift?"

I will tell them some things they can do, but it's not a two week deal. It's a long time. A long, difficult road of constant training and proper nutrition, the two go hand in hand. They can lift weights all day long but if they eat fast food and a lot of packaged food, they will not progress.

On the other hand, they can do the same weight training routine over and over, and never change it or vary anything, never add weight, never change their grip, never learn anything new, and they won't progress.

They just don't want it bad enough to work for it.

On the other hand, they may go out of their way to get to the store and buy chips and ice cream and cookies and garbage, so they can sit in front of the TV and watch a show, and eat crap. They will make sure they are there, on the sofa when that show starts, every single week, no matter what.

They want it that badly.

Think about what you want. If you want it bad enough, you gotta work for it. You can do it too, you just gotta want it bad enough.

No matter what "it" is.

I have included a great 5 minute video below, I saw it on Alli McKee's blog. Please take some time to watch, it may change your mind and your body. (Email subscribers will need to navigate to the blog to view this).
